The membership meeting of the Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities (OACBHA) in Columbus. Staff heard presentations on Mobile Response & Stabilization Services (MRSS), Crisis Work Updates and Data Modernization and updates on contracting and ethics. Distribute Deterra bags to the Wooster, Rittman and Orrville police departments, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Medway Drug Enforcement Agency and the Viola Stutzman Clinic. These bags provide an environmentally friendly way to dispose of pills, liquids and patches. The Holmes County Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet. It was wonderful to help celebrate the businesses of Holmes County. The Wayne County Health Department Open House at its new home at 244 W. South St. in downtown Wooster. It was beautiful and creates a welcoming space for the people they serve. The board also contracts with the department for $8,000 to support Project DAWN (Deaths Avoided With Naloxone) efforts. NAMI for a Friday lunch with MOCA House participants. It was touching to hear the way this program has helped save and improve lives. Goodie bags and cooling towels also were delivered to the participants Deliver books related to trauma-informed care and overcoming childhood adversity to the Wayne County Schools Career Center, EJ Therapy, Child Advocacy Center, The Counseling Center, OneEighty, Anazao Community Partners, Catholic Charities, Wayne County Children Services and Holmes County Job and Family Services. Provide masks to the Wayne and Holmes County health departments
