The Mental Health & Recovery Board of Wayne & Holmes Counties is proud to announce the appointment of Brenda Cronin as Executive Director, effective July 1, 2022.
Brenda joins Mental Health & Recovery Board of Wayne & Holmes Counties after serving previously as a Mental Health and Recovery Board Director for four years. Her commitment to assisting others is reflected in her entire career being in public service. Among other public service positions, she served as Chief of Staff for Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities and the Ohio Department of Youth Services. Brenda will be bringing her experience to the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Wayne & Holmes Counties to lead the already strong culture of community collaboration.
“Assisting others and being a part of providing opportunities to better their lives, is the most rewarding aspect of public service.” says Brenda.
When asked about what makes her excited about this role, she replied, “I am excited about working with a talented board, staff, and funded partners to improve the lives of those with mental illness and/or addiction disease. As the executive director, I appreciate the opportunity to work with the board to make policy decisions that make this happen.”
I am impressed and inspired by the commitment of community members to identify issues and work collaboratively to address them. From my observations in the few weeks that I have been here, the members of the community understand that it "takes a village" and they stand ready to take on the challenge.”
Giving a nod to her predecessor, Brenda says, “Judy Wortham Wood has done a tremendous amount of work for the residents of Wayne and Holmes Counties, and she has left her mark on these communities. She is a consummate professional.”
The Mental Health & Recovery Board of Wayne & Holmes Counties aims to improve awareness of and access to mental health and addiction treatment and prevention services in Wayne & Holmes Counties.
They provide leadership, support, and funding to community partners and agencies in the delivery of mental health and addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery services.
